PTIC is owned and managed by Study English Sdn Bhd. We are committed to providing you with the best quality of education possible. Here are our terms and conditions relating to our services. Should you have any questions, please contact us by telephone or e-mail, or come and see us at the Centre.
The terms detailed below form the basis of an agreement between you (the student) and PTIC (the Centre).
Your registration on any PTIC course automatically invokes these Terms and Conditions.
Fees
- PTIC will advise students on all courses, fees and other matters upon registration.
- Fees are paid in advance for one semester (there are 4 months per semester).
- Fees are not transferable to another student(s).
- Every student must undertake a placement test to determine his or her level. This includes a listening and speaking test administered by one of our teachers. The placement test fee is RM20.
- Course textbooks are charged separately depending on the level.
Attendance
- It is the duty of the student (or their parents) to inform us immediately if he or she is unable to attend classes.
- No replacement classes will be arranged or refunds given if the reason for non-attendance is anything other than illness (a medical certificate is required).
- Private lesson students must give 24-hours notice for cancellations and/or reschedules. Failure to do this will result in a full charge for the class.
Books and Learning Resources
- Students are required to purchase their own copy of any textbooks or learning resources used during lessons.
- PTIC observes copyright laws and respects the creative and intellectual property rights of authors.
- Books and learning resources are to be left at the Centre, apart from workbooks which may be taken home for homework to be completed.
- Some books from the PTIC library may be borrowed home by students. Books should be returned on time in the same condition in which they left the centre. Any damage or loss to PTIC property must be compensated by the parent(s).
Conduct
- The Centre aims to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for learning. We will not tolerate disrespectful behaviour of any sort. This includes but is not limited to bullying, physical violence, theft, rudeness to teachers and other students, and willful damage to property.
- The Centre reserves the right to censure, suspend or expel students who do not abide by its rules.
Learning Abilities
- PTIC tries to be as inclusive as possible in its policies, methodologies and attitudes towards its students. The Centre recognises that each child has different learning styles and needs and will try its utmost to cater to these.
- In some instances, a child’s learning difficulties may prove to be beyond the Centre’s capabilities to manage. The Centre reserves the right in such instances to refer the child to other professionals or institutions, and/or to refuse or terminate the child’s enrolment. This will be done without prejudice and deemed to be in the best interests of the child and its family.
The Centre reserves the right to add, modify or remove any terms and conditions as economic exigencies and other factors dictate.
